Jim and his team were nothing but brilliant throughout our job. We called in for some help with repairs to our external wall, chimney and window lintel installations. LRBS and Jim did a great job fixing our window lintel of a Victorian house that was showing signs of movement. Came adn surveyed the issue within a few days of initial contact and ensured the job went as smoothly as possible. Would recommend for any structural work you need doing.

Excellent service from Jim and the team @ LRBS . We had a crack above a landing window and Jim advised us post a visual review that its probable that the outer course of bricks needed looking at and also it was possible that a lintel was needed . Once the old render had been removed it was as described by Jim , the bricks on the outer course were so loose only the render was holding them in place and there was no support lintel above the window. (Terrible error by the Double glazing company to not fit one).LRBS Quoted for load bearings to be placed at each end of the window , lintel support and tie ins for the outer and inner course of bricks plus helical steel bars to tie in the new outer course and give it strength. The work carried out was efficient , neat and as quoted for and with the new Render the house looks superb. Excellent team and kept us informed throughout . Would definately use Jim and LRBS team again .

The experience throughout with LRBS was excellent. I had a hall window and lintel above it that leaked water on and off for many years but only if the rain was in a certain direction . External remedies were tried and would keep it from leaking for 3 years maximum only. I contacted Jim and LRBS as window and lintel specialists and he and his team came to assess the problem thoughtfully and with expertise and experience . The ensuing fixing of the window and replacement of the new steel lintel by Brendan and Ken as well as the replacement window sorted by Lewis was thorough, efficient and showed craftsmanship and an understanding of the nature of the age of the house . Jim and Brendan communicated well with me before and through the process and Jim gave prompt replies to any emails, texts etc. Brendan and Ken tidied up each day and were conscious of ensuring security . Jim and all the team involved were friendly , polite, extremely professional and very helpful. The whole experience was made so much easier by their understanding and efficiency and their meticulous approach and helpful attitude . I am delighted with the finished result and have a real sense of the problem being sorted once and for all. I would recommend LRBS without hesitation.

LRBS originally did work on a retaining wall to fix cracking and put in an expansion gap. Three years later, I asked Jim if he could return to repoint some areas. Not only did Jim (and Simon) return to repoint the retaining wall, they also did extra work, on the same day, to my conservatory wall which needed repointing. For any building issues, I would only ever use LRBS. Jim's technical expertise and his team's quality of work is to a very high standard. I was so lucky to find LRBS. Faced with a two-storey bay window with collapsed brick arches and brickwork in need of urgent structural repairs, Jim and his guys saved the day, or in my case saved the bay! Jim arranged everything, including replacement windows, and the work was explained to me in detail. Their experience and professionalism was second to none and they were a pleasure to have around. Despite a few challenges which included the weather, the work was completed in good time and for a reasonable price. I can't thank them enough and would highly recommend them.

We live in a Victorian terraced and had a complicated structural issue with an unstable (and dangerous) retaining wall in the garden that was poorly built. After numerous builders came and went with false promises (or with some it was just above their abilities I recon) LRBS attended provided an estimate within days and started (and finished) the work on time. Jim is highly skilled, experienced and personable, as is his team. They are all ‘old school’ builders and have years of experience. The quality of their work shows and it is brilliant to see master builders who take pride in what they do in a market that is unfortunately full of cowboys.I would not hesitate to recommend this company and we have future work planned. We are absolutely delighted with the result and the huge relief that it has been sorted to such a high standard so thank you!

We're lucky(?!) enough to live in an older building with old garden walls, one of which needed repair. The works needed to do the job well were unusual - structural ties, weep holes, and lime mortar, none of which are common or easy to find expertise in.Starting from assessment, it was fairly obvious LRBS are excellent at what they do - Jim's suggestions - unprompted - read like a checklist of things previously recommended to us to by a specialist surveyor.When LRBS came to do the work, they did it exactly the right way - lime mix, hessian to keep things drying out too fast - and when they found anything to work around, they did so by talking it over with us first, then carried out the work efficiently and well. Throughout, the lads were friendly, skilled, and tidy. Despite setbacks, the original quote never changed. And... it was good value.Highly, highly recommended, and we plan to ask them for their help again.

Extremely efficient, and great value for the Bay stabilisation work for two windows we needed to get done, which was repaired very well.
