When working on my neighbours property, I asked Jim if he’d have a look at my garage, upon on which he noticed a crack above my rear kitchen window that lead to discovering the absence on lintels in all of my ground floor windows. The team booked me in, did a fantastic job, very clean & tidy work and you’d never know I’d had the work done!

From the start I was impressed with Jim’s honesty. When he did my survey there was some work I was sure needed doing, but he put my mind at rest that it was fine, saving me a lot of money.
I ended up having the bottom 2 courses of bricks at the front replaced, a window sill repaired and a garden wall partially rebuilt and strengthened. The quality of the work on all of it was excellent.
Jim’s a decent guy and the people who work for him are skilled tradesmen who produce excellent results, I couldn’t have asked for more.

LRBS came out to assess a crack in the ceiling of a property I was buying. Jim’s detailed report and findings highlighted the absence of external lintels. His experience enabled me to negotiate with the sellers. Work happened within a month of moving in. Sean and Joe who carried out the work were helpful, friendly and talked me through what they were doing and how it would stabilise the building. They were very professional and although there were challenges the work was done efficiently. I was amazed that it was not as impactful as I thought. They were constantly cleaning and tidying up. They were all amazing so would highly recommend.

We enjoy the charm of living in an older property but old structures can be risky to buy and maintain. Jim Devlin, Owner of LRB Services was introduced through English Heritage and his professional manner and clear technical advice was invaluable in assessing an investment in a Grade 2 listed property. Subsequently Jim has completed two projects for us at our current home, a 230 year old cottage located in a conservation area. I contacted Jim to repair a bay window that was slowly but surely detaching from my first floor bedroom. He was really friendly and helpful, helped me to understand what caused the issue and offered the best solution to preserve the brickwork of my house. Jim and Sean then dealt with the repairs, being very transparent with their process, calling me everyday to keep me in the loop and were very respectful of my property. They did a great job and I feel a lot more confident moving forward, that bay window isn't going anywhere! They even offered to deal with some cracks above my garage door. We asked Jim to assist us with a leaking wooden lintel in our older property. We found him to be very knowledgeable about older properties. His straightforward, honest, personable approach is excellent. He clearly has a good team of people and we are happy with the work he and Sean undertook for us. Jim and his team have been great from start to finish. We’ve had them do a range of work around our house, including adding lintels to doorways/windows for stability and several bespoke projects, including building an under the stairs cupboard and a much larger renovation/restoration to our 1960s brick garage. They brought in all the needed workers to do the latter, from the brickwork repairs, to roofers, windows, and asbestos removal. Everyone was really professional and the work is very neat. Jim was personally on site regularly to make sure every element was running to plan. I would highly recommend them for any job, but especially things involving lintels and bespoke brickwork!

Jim and his team were nothing but brilliant throughout our job. We called in for some help with repairs to our external wall, chimney and window lintel installations. I really appreciated Jim’s patience helping me understand the work needing to be undertaken. Not just the job itself but communication and paperwork etc were great and reassured me given the size of the work. On the job everything was kept clean, and were respectful of our house during works. I’m really happy with the quality of the work. Would recommend!

LRBS and Jim did a great job fixing our window lintel of a Victorian house that was showing signs of movement. Came adn surveyed the issue within a few days of initial contact and ensured the job went as smoothly as possible. Would recommend for any structural work you need doing.

Excellent service from Jim and the team @ LRBS . We had a crack above a landing window and Jim advised us post a visual review that its probable that the outer course of bricks needed looking at and also it was possible that a lintel was needed . Once the old render had been removed it was as described by Jim , the bricks on the outer course were so loose only the render was holding them in place and there was no support lintel above the window. (Terrible error by the Double glazing company to not fit one).
LRBS Quoted for load bearings to be placed at each end of the window , lintel support and tie ins for the outer and inner course of bricks plus helical steel bars to tie in the new outer course and give it strength. The work carried out was efficient , neat and as quoted for and with the new Render the house looks superb. Excellent team and kept us informed throughout . Would definately use Jim and LRBS team again .

The experience throughout with LRBS was excellent. I had a hall window and lintel above it that leaked water on and off for many years but only if the rain was in a certain direction . External remedies were tried and would keep it from leaking for 3 years maximum only. I contacted Jim and LRBS as window and lintel specialists and he and his team came to assess the problem thoughtfully and with expertise and experience . The ensuing fixing of the window and replacement of the new steel lintel by Brendan and Ken as well as the replacement window sorted by Lewis was thorough, efficient and showed craftsmanship and an understanding of the nature of the age of the house . Jim and Brendan communicated well with me before and through the process and Jim gave prompt replies to any emails, texts etc. Brendan and Ken tidied up each day and were conscious of ensuring security . Jim and all the team involved were friendly , polite, extremely professional and very helpful. The whole experience was made so much easier by their understanding and efficiency and their meticulous approach and helpful attitude . I am delighted with the finished result and have a real sense of the problem being sorted once and for all. I would recommend LRBS without hesitation.
